National Broadband Plan is a debacle - Update

The provision of quality Broadband to all citizens has been an objective of many Governments since 2008.  This graphic illustrates some of the stages to date.  Following the withdrawal of two of the three bidders for the licence to provide this essential service, delivery seems even further away.

Against the background of claim and counterclaim it illustrates that providing essential public services via outsourcing to private corporations does not always produce efficiencies.  Social Justice Ireland calls on Government to take the necessary steps to ensure the rollout of broadband to all homes as soon as possible.
